The Kindness of Strangers

Asking people for money is hard, I don't even like asking for money that I've previously lent.  Even though I know it's for a great cause.  That's why David decided to do sponsored events, as people tend to be more generous when there is some pain or misery involved.

So, imagine the surprise when Friday evening, we are all sat around the kitchen table enjoying a meal; there's a knock at the door.   David opened the door to find a lovely lady stood there.  She asked if this was Joshua's home.  And then gave David an envelope with 3 cheques in it.  She had seen Joshua's collection bottle in the local shop and had asked questions about him.  She took down the details and looked up this site.  Then she asked colleagues to donate.  A perfect stranger, so ready and willing to help and support our Joshua.

Friday saw another amazing donation.  A cheque arrived in the post.  A couple had taken part in a kayakathon and gave up coffee.  In the process they raised £145 for Joshua.

People amaze me.  They give their time and their money so freely.  I am so very grateful for it too.  God Bless you all.
